Every Student in Year 12 has the opportunity to undertake a week's work experience in the Autumn term of Year 12.

The aims of Work Experience include:

  • Giving the student an insight into the realities of the workplace.
  • Raising student awareness of Current Employment Legislation including Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Experiencing first hand the world of work.
  • Enabling the student to make informed career choices.
  • Widening the students' horizons beyond the school context.
  • Motivating and stimulating the students to achieve their full potential.

Students choose their placements at the end of the year  11 and return to school the appropriate completed forms. During the placement students will complete a report on their Work Experience and the Employer will also fill in a report form on the student. These forms will be used by staff to assist them when they are writing student references and will form part of the students records of achievement along with their final school report, their personal statement and their C.V.
